While in Austin for the Homeless Resource Fair the line
trailed back about 200 ft.
The workers filled out the surveys and the clients entered
the building to the services.
There wasn't a planned job for me so I went around and
greeted folks, there were new faces to meet and some that
knew me by name brbruce .
I must share the one that touched my heart the most.
As I moved around the crowd there were many prayers and
love hugs. I came upon a man he said he was 68 and yes
he knew the Lord. I spoke to him about how nice it was
to see him get some of the things today. A new backpack,
a sleeping bag , some new shoes. He was just finishing
his meal and he took a gulp of his drink when I shared
how God was pleased that he was able to be blessed with
the nice things . We held hands and prayed for thanksgiving
of the day to be gathered as friends all this we pray
in Jesus name.
I looked upon him and saw how the tears had built up and
I asked him what it was about? As the tears flowed he
spoke to me and said brbruce this morning I prayed to
God to send me a friend. All of these things are nice
but the prayers of friendship is answered prayer.
I now have to wipe the tears from my eyes . We shook hands
and after a hug I shared my ministry card and moved on
into the crowd.
I went over to the cookers and shared the story with a
man there he too began to tear up . I shared with him
how the smoke makes us tear up but this time it was the
friendship in Christ that did the job.
Jesus Spoken Hear.
