Its time to kill the elephant...There are a lot of things which Christians don't seem willing to discuss. One HUGE elephant in the room is the notion that everyone should just mind their own business. Its time to kill that elephant. Continue Added by Bruce Macomber on June 6, 2010 National Day of Prayer Today started like most others
prayer time, Bible time, breakfast. On line Forum, emails,
Feed all of the animals. Went to town and checked ministry
mailbox. It was 11.30 and a short walk to the courthouse
steps. A few times around the walkway and the crowd
got large. I went to be a prayer partner to give Honor
to GOD, to be a Christian. I was asked to be a part
of the National Day of Prayer. As I stepped up to the
mic I asked for a minute of silence. Continue
Added by Bruce Aspgren on May 6, 2010 All I own is trash This is about homeless children.
While on a visit to a children's home (orphanage) in
central Texas. I spent some time with a group of children
5 to 9 years old. A house father shared this story.
When the children come here I spend extra time with
them and when we look at what they bring with them its
usually in a trash bag. I asked one little girl what
she had and she stated all she had was trash. Every
time that she was to pack up her things they would say
go get a trash bag. I pray that this… Continue
Added by Bruce Aspgren on April 26, 2010 Some powdered donutsI was at a store Tuesday and a vendor that sold
baked goods was taking out the out of date food. He
and I are prayer friends. He donated some powdered
donuts. We prayed and I got a call for a rescue. I
went to see about a man who was out of sorts and needed
to go to MHMR. mental health medical resources. I
was able to get him to agree to get help when I offered
him some powdered donuts. He said how did you know
that I liked these kind of donuts.

Added by Bruce Aspgren on April 8, 2010 I Too Need Friendship This report is hard to write. I
will ask of you to remember this man in prayer. Early
this week I got a call from a indigent Veteran. He has
had a bout of illness and the water co. has removed
his water meter. He was $140 late for 3 months . He
lives in a 83 ford motor home. He has never had electric
and now no water. He called me and reported that he
wanted to end the pain. Continue
Added by Bruce Aspgren on March 5, 2010 Ministry Its been raining and in the 30's
for more than a week. I was at the post office checking
the ministry mailbox. As I walked out to get into the
van on the ground was a folded envelope with a check
inside 2400.00. I recognized the names and when I got
home I called and left a message. After a few days and
no answer I addressed a envelope and licked a stamp.
I walked down the hill and raised the flag on the mailbox.
Two days later the dogs at 7am let me know that someone
was here. Continue

Added by Jeannette Burleigh on December 1, 2009 Thanks giving We look around and find that just
right pan, the spoon that stirs the way we like it to.
The almost empty spice bottle that takes it up a notch.
Set the temp down a little there is no hurry and it
smells just like the memories we have of the meals from
the big peoples table. It matters not how many there
are sitting at the table nor the amount of portions
on our plates. Its time to pause and give thanks for
the way we have survived the trials and test, of time
that these days have served us. Continue
Added by Bruce Aspgren on November 26, 2009 Thanksgiving at a homeless camp Thanksgiving at a homeless camp
Last year 7 men at a homeless camp gathered there money
and purchased 3 jars of gravy and 2 loaves of bread.
They had just started to cook when I entered the camp.
Will you eat with us they asked. Sure I said. I happen
to have a 12 pack of sodas in the van. Plastic plates
and forks 3 pieces of bread and some turkey gravy. They
asked me to bless the meal. We were almost done eating
when 4 men entered camp with sweet rolls via dumpster
shopping. A few plates... Continue
Added by Bruce Aspgren on November 20, 2009 God's Lost and Found Greetings, - We must make every
effort to win the lost. Today is the day of salvation!
I was praying for those on this list and thought I might
update you on one of my most recent meditations. God's
'lost and found' chapter, Luke 15. I was caught by the
message of the illustration of the lost coin. I see
so many Christians who have lost their 'treasure' in
serving Christ. They continue the motions of serving
Jesus Christ, but miss the meaning of real joy: 1. They
have lost their joy of the clos... Continue
Added by Walter Isbill on November 20, 2009 The Love Revolution - Kindness to OthersWhen God created Adam, it was the beginning of his family, and the most important aspect of his and any family was that they love each other. That has not changed, yet man, over 6400 years later, has still not been able to do it. I don't know how to emphasize it other than remind you that over 70% of the Bible is either directly or indirectly relating to people loving each other. The power of love is largely overlooked by people in general. Love is the most powerful force available to us. ... Resource Fair the line trailed back about 200 ft. The
workers filled out the surveys and the clients entered
the building to the services. There wasn't a planed
job for me so I went around and greeted folks, there
were new faces to meet and some that knew me by name
brbruce . I must share the one that touched my heart
the most. As I moved around the crowd there were many
prayers and love hugs. I came upon a man he said he
was 68 and yes he knew the Lord. I spoke ... Continue

and the road is not paved, when I noticed a man walking
to town. I stopped and asked him if I could give him

Added by Bruce Aspgren on September 5, 2009 A Deep Breath and A Seed Planted. The rest of the story. Dear Pastor Bruce, Thank you for
the note of encouragement! I want to share a testimony
with you. When I sowed the money into your ministry,
I told my husband that I felt led by God to do it and
what if one of our family members became homeless? Little
did I know, shortly after that one of our children became
homeless and he failed to call us. He panicked and needed
help desperately. A ministry in a central Texas town
took care of our son and encouraged him to call us.
He is home now! I believed... Continue

Added by Bruce Aspgren on September 3, 2009 Let your light so shine While in Austin at a ministry outreach
I met a man who was blind. He has been blind since the
age of 30 and now he is 50. He shared with me how he
learned how to read braille, and how to walk with a
cane. He told me how he learned to turn on the lights
in a room, this was to let others know he was there
.I found a new friendship with him and new outlook for
the blind. I spent time that day on the way home thinking
about him and how he has learned skills to live in this
complex world. I found ... Continue
