Greetings Christian Soldiers!

Welcome to the Christian Soldiers Newsletter.

Our mission is to encourage Christians to stand firm in their faith and in their convictions.

So Many Issues, So Little Time

There is so much pending legislation; it’s hard to know where to start, or where to find the most up to date status of it all.

I find myself wondering if the effort is worth it, after hearing and pondering some of the feedback I get while conversing with folks on the issues.

I had one such conversation with a fellow, who professes to be a pro-life Christian, a few days ago, which went something like this:

Bruce: “So, what do you think of the newsletters I’ve been putting out?”

Fellow: “Yeah, I got your emails, but I haven’t had time to follow the links.”

Bruce: “But, but…the newsletters usually contain a time-sensitive call to action. In fact, my last email was for the sole purpose of getting folks to contact their local reps in Congress to put a stop to the so-called Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) that threatens to override the victory we just won in the Supreme Court ruling to uphold the ban on Partial Birth Abortion!”

Fellow: “Well, I’ve got a lot on my plate. I can’t take time to worry because some pregnant woman wants an abortion.”

Brothers and Sisters, you have no idea how much that conversation put a damper on my day. While it certainly confirms and drives home the urgent need for the Christian Soldiers mission it also personalizes the wall of complacency we are up against.

I chose to keep “Fellow” anonymous. I think the chances are pretty good that he will never see the replay of our conversation, despite the fact that he is a Christian Soldier Newsletter subscriber.

Feel free to prove me wrong, “Fellow” and be aware that I am seriously considering adding a new feature page to http://www.christiansoldiersonline.org, namely, the Christian Soldiers Hall of Shame

Should I choose to add you to Hall of Shame, “Fellow”, know that you won’t be alone. There will be a special place for the local Baptist pastor who said he would be at the meeting of the local chapter of Right to Life, and never showed up, as well as the other invited local pastors who showed no interest whatsoever in attending.

If the leadership of our churches can’t find the backbone to stand up and stand firm on vital issues of the day, how can we expect the congregations that comprise the Body of Christ to function as a Body???!!! Can I really even be upset with “Fellow” for being self-absorbed and ineffectual when that is the message he is getting from the pulpit?

Speaking of the pulpit, unless American Christians WAKE UP pretty darn quick, it won’t be worth the time to even go to church to hear a sermon anymore, because the liberal government will have their hands up the butt and working the mouth of every preacher in the country. It’s already bad enough that pastors associated with 501(c) 3 incorporated churches are muzzled in regards to speaking specifically on political issues and candidates, for fear of losing tax-exempt status.

Looming on the horizon is passage of H.R. 1592, the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007 which not only presumes to read the minds of criminals to see if they are acting out of hatred for a particular class of people – as if neither the heinous nature of the crime itself nor the punishments currently under the law are enough – but is setting the stage for a really ugly ripple effect (read tidal wave) that will wash through every church in America in which a pastor preaches God’s Word in regard to soon-to-be-protected and already promoted “alternative lifestyles”.

House Of Representatives Slaps Christians In Face On The National Day Of Prayer
May 3, 2007 – Traditional Values Coalition Executive Director Andrea Lafferty issued the following statement on passage of H.R. 1592, a so-called hate crimes bill by Congress this afternoon:
“On the National Day of Prayer, a majority of the Members of the House of Representatives have slapped Christians in the face with passage of H.R. 1592. Though allegedly designed to help local law enforcement officials deal with violent hate crimes, this legislation actually creates two new federally-protected minority groups: “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” – both of which are undefined by the law. Fellow Christian Soldiers, many of you are Missourians and already are aware of the travesty voted into effect in the 2006

election. I am, of course, referring to Amendment 2 to the Missouri Constitution, the Stem Cell Initiative, foisted upon the

public as a “ban on human cloning”.

Missouri isn’t the only state where ethics has been tossed out the window. It has recently come to our attention that

Minnesota has similar pending legislation –

H.F. 34/S.F. 100, sponsored by Rep. Phyllis Kahn and Sen. Dick Cohen, would allow millions of taxpayer dollars to fund

embryo-destructive research at the University of Minnesota.  Alarmingly, this legislation would also allow funding for human

cloning through somatic cell nuclear transfer, the technique used to create Dolly the sheep.” Read more

Please take the time to follow the links in this (and other) newsletter(s). The link directly above goes to an article written by

Paul Stark, a student at the University of Minnesota, and contains contact information to the related powers-that-be. I urge

you to make your voice heard!

Back in Missouri the embryonic stem cell battle is not over, but the outlook is bleak.

HJR 11, introduced by Rep. Jim Lembke, in short, seeks to clarify the ambiguous and misleading language of Amendment 2
by inserting the following:
2. It is unlawful to engage in human cloning. For the purposes of this section and section 38(d) of this article,
"human cloning" means the creation of a human zygote, human blastocyst, or human embryo by any means other than the
fertilization of a human egg by a human sperm.

If Amendment 2 had truly been contrived as the ban on human cloning that is was passed off as at the ballot box and in
pre-election advertising, this simple clarification should pose no problem. But, since this is all about the billions of dollars to
be made through the patenting of proprietary processes involving human embryos created through SCNT, the resolution
didn’t stand a chance and died a painful death in the House Committee.

Beloved Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Without your feedback, I have no way of knowing if my messages are falling on deaf ears. I’m sincerely hoping,
praying and believing that I am not wasting my time and that those who would otherwise remain complacent are catching
the fire. Whether you are already a self-motivated zealot or a reluctant participant in the Christian socio/political movement,
PLEASE take a moment to email me at bruce@christiansoldiersonline.org and let me know what you have been doing to further
the cause of the Christian Soldier.
The aforementioned issues are just a tiny representation of the onslaught against Christian values in America.
As always, volunteers are needed to help gather widely scattered information into a concise format –
so many issues, so little time!
In lieu of direct participation to that end, donations of any amount are always a blessing to this ministry.

Proverbs 7

1My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.

2Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

3Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

4Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:

5That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.

6For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,

7And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

8Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,

9In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:

10And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.

11(She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:

12Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)

13So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,

14I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.

15Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

16I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.

17I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

18Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.

19For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:

20He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.

21With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

 22He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

23Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.

24Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.

25Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

26For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

27Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.
