As I watch the full media coverage of this tragedy, touted as being the worst of its kind in the history of our nation, I cannot help but reflect upon another tragedy, with a death count of thousands, that occurs daily in our nation, but for which we have no national media coverage, no Congressional moments of silence, no nation-wide outcry nor ceaseless weeping. Are the seemingly random attacks upon school campuses reflective of a society-at-large, which no longer holds life sacred? Truly, “No man is an island” – John Donne.
