And the serpent hissed: "The
Secret"
Genesis 3:
4And the serpent said unto
the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5For God doth know
that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye
shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6And when the woman
saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes,
and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof,
and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
Folks, if you have not yet become aware of "The Secret"
and its "Law of Attraction", chances are, you soon will.
"The Secret", a book and film written and created by Rhonda
Byrne and endorsed and promoted by Oprah Winfrey proclaims, in essence,
that we can control the outcome of our lives and fortunes by positive
thinking. We attract, by our attitudes, both positive and negative, outcomes
that are positive or negative.
As wonderful and marvelous, and downright practical as this may sound
at first blush, the reader should note that an extremely important
element is left out...The Sovereignty of God Almighty.
Please consider the following excerpts:
You are God in a physical body. You are Spirit in the flesh. You are
Eternal Life expressing itself as You. You are a cosmic being. You are
all power. You are all wisdom. You are all intelligence. You are perfection.
You are magnificence. You are the creator, and you are creating the creation
of You on this planet.
The earth turns on its orbit for You. The oceans ebb and flow for
You. The birds sing for You. The sun rises and it sets for You. The stars
come out for You. Every beautiful thing you see, every wondrous thing
you experience, is all there for You. Take a look around. None of it can
exist, without You. No matter who you thought you were, now you know the
Truth of Who You Really Are. You are the master of the Universe. You are
the heir to the kingdom. You are the perfection of Life. And now you know
The Secret.
As you can see, the Secret is nothing new. It has been around in
one form or another since the beginning of Creation when Satan lied to
Eve. The lie is told in a number of venues today, many times in the guise
of Christian teachings, i.e. "Name it and Claim it" theology
and the "Prosperity Gospel", among others.
I found a review of "The Secret", which shares my assertions,
at http://biblicalspirituality.org/secret.html,
and for brevity sake I now direct you there.
Sadly, not everyone is going to accept the teachings of God's Word.
Many will perish. If you have not yet accepted the gift of salvation, I
urge you to do so now by praying to God:
"Father, I am a sinner. Please forgive me of all my sins, for which
You sent Your Precious Son, Who, though Himself blameless, died on the
cross, in my place, so that I should not perish, but have life everlasting.
Father, thank you, for the resurrection of Your Son, Jesus Christ,
Who died, was entombed, and rose again on the third day, as a sign and
a promise to me, that I, too, will have a resurrected body and share in
Your Kingdom, forever." Amen.
Romans 10:
1Brethren, my heart's
desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2For I bear them record
that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3For they being ignorant
of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness,
have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
4For Christ is the
end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
5For Moses describeth
the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those
things shall live by them.
6But the righteousness
which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall
ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
7Or, Who shall descend
into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
8But what saith it?
The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the
word of faith, which we preach;
9That if thou shalt
confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart
that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10For with the heart
man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made
unto salvation.
11For the scripture
saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12For there is no
difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is
rich unto all that call upon him.
13For whosoever shall
call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14How then shall they
call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe
in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a
preacher?
15And how shall they
preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet
of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good
things!
16But they have not
all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17So then faith cometh
by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
18But I say, Have
they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their
words unto the ends of the world.
19But I say, Did not
Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them
that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
20But Esaias is very
bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest
unto them that asked not after me.
21But to Israel he
saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient
and gainsaying people.
To those of you who are Christians, I urge you to join me in showing others
that "The Secret" is not of God, but of a world yet dominated
by Satan, who has set out "The Secret" and other false teachings
as a pit, snare and stumbling block before the feet of mankind.
Please meditate upon the following scriptures:
Proverbs 3:
5Trust in the LORD with all
thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6In all thy ways acknowledge
him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Philippians 2:
1If there be therefore
any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of
the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
2Fulfil ye my joy,
that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one
mind.
3Let nothing be done
through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem
other better than themselves.
4Look not every man
on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
5Let this mind be in
you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6Who, being in the
form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7But made himself of
no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in
the likeness of men:
8And being found in
fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death,
even the death of the cross.
9Wherefore God also
hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10That at the name
of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth,
and things under the earth;
11And that every tongue
should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 4:
1Therefore, my brethren
dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the
Lord, my dearly beloved.
2I beseech Euodias,
and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.
3And I intreat thee
also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the
gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names
are in the book of life.
4Rejoice in the Lord
always: and again I say, Rejoice.
5Let your moderation
be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6Be careful for nothing;
but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your
requests be made known unto God.
7And the peace of God,
which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through
Christ Jesus.
8Finally, brethren,
whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things
are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever
things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any
praise, think on these things.
9Those things, which
ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and
the God of peace shall be with you.

Proverbs 12
1Whoso
loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
2A
good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will
he condemn.
3A
man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous
shall not be moved.
4A
virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed
is as rottenness in his bones.
5The
thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are
deceit.
6The
words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the
upright shall deliver them.
7The
wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall
stand.
8A
man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse
heart shall be despised.
9He
that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth
himself, and lacketh bread.
10A
righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies
of the wicked are cruel.
11He
that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth
vain persons is void of understanding.
12The
wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth
fruit.
13The
wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall
come out of trouble.
14A man shall be satisfied with good by the
fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered
unto him.
15The
way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel
is wise.
16A
fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.
17He that speaketh truth sheweth forth
righteousness: but a false witness deceit.
18There
is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the
wise is health.
19The
lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but
for a moment.
20Deceit
is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace
is joy.
21There
shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with
mischief.
22Lying
lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.
23A
prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
24The
hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under
tribute.
25Heaviness
in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.
26The
righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked
seduceth them.
27The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting:
but the substance of a diligent man is precious.
28In the way of righteousness is life: and
in the pathway thereof there is no death.
